Bartender.no – Norway’s Bartender Association, fostering a thriving community of professionals dedicated to excellence in hospitality.
It all began quietly on an autumn day in 1949...
...specifically, on October 6th, at the renowned venue Regnbuen. Eight bartenders gathered and founded our association under the name Oslo Bartender Club.
The association’s first president was Arne Normann.
In 1952, the association became a member of the International Bartenders Association (IBA).

SBG.nu – Swedish Bartenders’ Guild, bringing together industry leaders across Scandinavia.
(SBG) The Swedish Bartenders’ Guild has a unique history.
The Swedish Bartenders’ Guild (Sveriges Bartenders Gille) was founded on August 17, 1949. The founding meeting took place at the home of Helmer Jansson on Öregrundsgatan 4 in Stockholm.
In attendance, alongside Helmer Jansson, were Patrik Melin, Erik Olsson, Arne Gustafsson, Georg Wistedt, Gunnar Johannesson, Sixten Sigstelius, and Nils Bergström.
These individuals established SBG with the aim of uniting the bartenders working in Sweden at the time, as well as those employed on ships in Swedish traffic with other countries.
The same year SBG was founded, initial discussions began in Paris about creating an international organization. On February 24, 1951, SBG, together with six other guilds, officially formed The International Bartenders Association (IBA).
